Chico Rebels' primary purpose is to teach and promote the game of Lacrosse in a fun, safe, and sportsmanlike environment. Chico Rebels is dedicated to the skill development of lacrosse players and teaches a game of speed, position, and finesse.

Time commitment: 2 - 4 hours per week

Function: Will serve as liaison between the Rebels board, coaching staff, and parents of the athletes. Helps in the distribution of communication between the club, coach and parents to help facilitate a smooth lacrosse season.

 

  • Coordinate volunteers to help in the running of the team or the club as a whole; i.e. act as sideline manager, keep score and time, fundraising efforts.

  • Contacts opposing team several days before home games, to communicate directions, weather info, remind them to bring chairs, etc.

  • Keep the coach organized by helping to disseminate communication to the team parents and/or players.

  • Maintain the team equipment: first aid kit, including ice packs, score book, tool box (zip ties, screw driver).

Time commitment: 45-90min.

Function: The responsibilities include documenting goals and assists.

 

  • Every home game requires that the hosting club provides someone to keep score for each game.

  • Scorekeeper will need to arrive 15 minutes ahead of time.

  • Training will be provided for score keepers, spotters and timekeepers.

Time commitment: 45-90min.

Function: A Spotter helps out at the scores table to help track stats by calling out player numbers and play (shot, assist, save, goal).

 

  • Spotters will need to arrive 15 minutes ahead of time.

  • This position is easier to do when standing, as sometimes you have to move around to see the whole play.

  • Training will be provide for score keepers, spotters and timekeepers.

Time commitment: 45-90min.

Function: The responsibilities include tracking each quarter, half-time, and penalty box timeouts, for the officials.

 

  • Every home game requires that the hosting club provides someone to keep time for each game.

  • Time keeper will need to arrive 15 minutes ahead of time.

  • Training will be provide for score keepers, spotters and timekeepers.

Time commitment: 90 minutes - 2 hours per game.

Function: Monitor the game & sidelines to assure sportsmanship & safety are adhered to by the home and visiting teams.

 

  • Field Manager will need to ensure they arrive at least 45 minutes ahead of time to ensure the field has been properly prepared, introduce themselves to the officials and welcome the opposing team to our area.

  • The sideline manager monitors the spectators for the following: alcohol consumption, verbal or physical threats to the official(s), players, or other spectators.

Time commitment: 15 to 20 minutes per game, after each game.  

Function: Report scores of team games, team news and schedule information via social media, and as needed, write social media posts, take  photos at games, practice, etc.

 

  • Track game scores, highlights, etc. for submission to the club PR manager for inclusion online and in the media.

  • Write original  posts for submission to team social media accounts

  • Responsible for submitting all scores, etc. within 24 hours of games’ conclusion.

  • Photograph team games and practices and transmit  PR manager in a timely manner.
